V.N.Karazin Kharkiv National University
The V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National Medical University was founded in November 1804 by Tsar Alexander I’s charter, and it made an important contribution to the Ukrainian national renaissance from the 19th to the 20th centuries. The V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is widely recognized as Ukraine’s scientific and academic centre.
V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is Ukraine’s only university that has produced world-renowned researchers, scholars, educators, biologists, economists, and Nobel laureates. The university was labelled as a National University in October 1999 and named after its founder, V.N. Karazin.
Since its inception, the university has graduated approximately 130,000 students. Sixty university graduates have been named academicians and members of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences (UNAS).
