Michigan
Michigan State is located in the upper Midwestern United States, near the Great Lakes. With a population of almost 10.12 million and a land area of almost 97,000 sq. mi, Michigan is the largest state east of the Mississippi River and ranks 10th in terms of both population and area. Michigan is known for its fishing because of its 3,288-mile coastline, which is the longest freshwater coastline in the United States. Another important industry is forestry, which covers 90 per cent of the Upper Peninsula.
