About Veneto

Veneto is a region in northeastern Italy that stretches from the Dolomites to the Adriatic Sea. Its regional capital, Venice, is known for its canals, Gothic architecture, and Carnival celebrations.

Veneto was a part of the powerful Venetian Republic for over 1,000 years, from the seventh to the eighteenth centuries. Medieval Verona, near alpine Lake Garda, is best known as the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet.

Thousands of international students flock to Italy each year to study at prestigious institutions such as Fondazione Alma Mater, Rome Business School, Free University of Bozen Bolzan, University of Parma, University of Trieste, and the University of Siena. Because of the prevalence of English language coursework, Veneto, Italy is also an excellent international study destination for English speakers.
